This post is for Wade

It's not your birthday.

It's not our anniversary.

It's not because you've recently done anything above and beyond.

It is because you are awesome. And I always want to you to know how loved you are. I don't know where I'd be today if it weren't for you. You are an fantastic husband, father, friend. I can honestly say, I never get sick of hanging out with you.

Thank you for going to get the groceries for me yesterday. (You know that is my least favorite thing to do. Ugh.) Thanks for playing with the kids so I could be lazy and lay on the couch. Thanks for making me feel so awesome about the way I look. Thanks for letting me watch Amazing Cakes and Back to the Future, even though football was on (although you'd already been watching if for like 4 hours straight...). Thanks for doing the dishes. (You know I despise that, too.) Thanks for, in general, putting up with me.

You're the best. :)

XOXO

Happy Birthday, Beckett!

In case you saw our recent (last minute, thrown together!) family photos and thought our family looked like it belonged in a magazine...

I assure you, it has a lot to do with the photographer! This is our family portrait that we picked up today for our church directory. Oh, it makes me chuckle. :)

And HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY to my favorite little guy in the entire world!!!!!!!!
I look at him 50 times a day and think, "Oh my gosh, he is SO cute!" He makes me smile just thinking about him, and I can't wait to see who this little person is going to become.

He's constantly asking to go play basketball at the Y, putting on his sister's lipgloss ever so quietly so she doesn't find out and yell at him, still eats a banana first thing every morning without fail, and is obsessed with tractors & lawn mowers.

His best friends are his blankie and Lexi, in that order. He LOVES cut up avocado. He still cries when I leave him, but if I tell him we'll play basketball later, he usually calms down. Before he goes to bed every night, we cuddle and I sing "Desperado" to him, and it's one of my favorite times of the day.

I absolutely, positively adore you, little guy. You are a pretty big deal around here!

Way Behind on Blogging :(

I'm not sure what I want these days.

I want to live out in the country. Homeschool my kids and raise a few chickens. I want them to be able to run around outside without pants on and not worry about them running into the street.

But I also want to live in town so I can walk to Subway just to get a cookie. Chat with a neighbor over the fence. Ride our bikes to a friends house for an improptu playdate. Drop them off at school in the morning then stop at Starbucks for a coffee.

I want to always feed my kids homemade, nutritious food.
But I really do like McDonald's and it's convenience.

I want to be Amazing. Great. Successful. Well-known. EXTRAORDINARY.

But I'm also content with being a normal, average mom with my adorable little family. Living happily ever after in a modest home bursting at the seams with love, giggles, and fingerprints.

I want to help people. In a big way. There is so much hurting out there and something inside of me craves making a difference.

But I also just want to help my family. The most important people in my life. Make sure that I don't mess it up. I'm creating future little adults to send out into this world who have the potential to make a big impact on people. I want it to be a positive impact.

I want a simple life.
But I also love being busy.

These pictures don't have anything to do with this post. In fact, this post doesn't have much to do with anything! Just some random musings that have been on my brain lately. Have a wonderful weekend! Go Hawks!

(And hopefully I'll catch up on some August posts soon!)
