I'm Still A Guy

I'm Still A Guy Lyrics

Ha! This song is soo Wade! I heard it the other day and laughed out loud b/c it's too cute. I wanted you all to hear it, EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIKE COUNTRY! I'll change the song soon, don't worry :)

Easter 2008

We went up to Wade's parents this weekend for Easter and went to church at his hometown church in Castalia, Iowa. (teeny tiny!) Afterwards, Reese opened her Easter basket from her grandparents, then we went to Nancy's, Wade's aunt, for a yummy lunch. We also found out that in February 2009 we'll be going w/ Roger and Mary to Costa Rica for Brooke Opheim's wedding! Woo hoo!!!

Mitchell!!

This post is a dedication to my awesome brother Mitchell, who took a risk and did what his heart told him to do. He knew the right thing to do and he did it. I love people like that, who don't always do what's popular or easy. He has been in Iraq since last August and recently found out that he should hopefully be coming home at the end of April! I know some days have been rough for him, but he's remained a jokester and kept all his buddies laughing. (I'm sure of it.) We're so excited to have him back and and still pray that everything goes as planned. Lord, thank you for keeping my brother safe and we ask that you watch over all the troops who are currently fighting for our country!

We love you Mitchell and we're so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!

First Anniversary Follow Up

Just a quick update on the littlest Monroe. We are now at 16 weeks, and I go in for a Dr's appointment on Weds. This is what s/he looks like right now! We're still taking suggestions for names! ;)

Reese and I just consumed a bunch of ice cream from Cold Stone, and now I'm wishing I hadn't eaten all of it at once! :P We had the Coffee Mojo, or something like that. (with PB, fudge, brownies and oreos in coffee ice cream!) We don't go there very often b/c it's so freakin' expensive! That's probably why my belly already looks like this!

15 weeks

Also, we had a nice supper out at Carlos for our anniversary. :) We took Crazy Child, who colored and ate refried beans, while Wade and I had our usuals- Fajita Cheese Crisp (5,000 calories) and The Trio con Brio (probably the same) I made sure to document our extravagant night out! We didn't get dessert, b/c we just received our Girl Scout Cookies, which were waiting at home! lol

Our First Anniversary!

We were married on March 10th, 2007- a whole year ago! It's been an interesting, fun, exciting year!

It takes a few seconds to load, so just hold your horses!

We seriously love being married. Coming from a girl who didn't think it would happen to her, it's the best thing in the world. It's awesome having your buddy with you all the time, for the rest of your life. Wade is an AWESOME cook (he does 90% of the cooking at our house!), so goofy and fun to be around, upbeat and optimistic, the best cuddler, and an amazing dad to Reese. She and I are so lucky, and I wish every girl in the world could experience what we have.

Us as a couple:
We're not into PDA.
We both love Carlos and any Mexican food.
We like being outdoors, especially in WARM weather!
We love Reese more than anything on this planet.
We're both outgoing and love hanging out w/ our own friends.
We're not into sappy cards from Halmark.
We both truly believe that we were strong, interesting people before we knew each other, but we found someone who enriches our life to make it better, not complete it.
We want to flip houses someday.
We call each other Lovie (and Reese is Little Lovie)
We are really, really happy.

Everyday life

Not too much exciting going on here at our house right now. We finally put in our 4 wk notice for the paper route on Friday. After an old man yelled at me from across the road for tossing not "placing" his paper on his doorstep so sometimes he has to walk down the two steps and get it, I had had enough. I have fallen in more muddy snow banks, slipped on patches of ice, and trudged through more snow this winter than I have my entire 24 years of existance.
And speaking of being 24, one of the lifeguards at the pool last night had a question for me. She said since she didn't have a mom up here at college, she wanted advice on what to do about spider bites. I told her to wash her sheets and pillowcases, obviously, but then asked her why she was asking me. She said "Well, your a mom, I figured you might know these things." And I reminded her that I was 24, and she was 21, and I wasn't that much older than her! Geesh :(

Here's a couple recent pics of our crazy child.

She's recently been introduced to markers and loves drawing with them. She scribbles, then my job is to put the cap back on, since she can't snap it shut. This was the result of mom needing a little break to check my email, and Crazy Child was left alone in the living room. Nothing else was colored on, just her legs and feet. This was the first, but not the only time she's done this.

This one makes me laugh. Just another morning watching Sesame Street.

Finger painting! A little young for it, but again, we have to do something since we're stuck inside until it warms up!
And this was just this morning. Wade got home from working out at the Y around 6am, and notice Reese was awake. I told him to leave her alone, and see if she fell back asleep. She quieted down, but Wade opened the door to check on her and she saw him and stood up. So he brought her into our bed to sleep with me, but all she wanted was Daddy, who needed to go to work. So he tried to explain to her that he'd come home and see her later tonight. She wouldn't come to me and yelled "NO!" when I tried to pick her up. So Wade left, and for 15 minutes Crazy Child stood at the door with her shoes, sobbing, saying "daddyyyyyy!" Definitely not our normal morning routine! She eventually calmed down and fell asleep again in my lap. *sigh*
