I honestly try my hardest to be a positive person. I really do. But I also strive to be an honest person.
I reeeeally am not a big fan of snow and cold weather.
I try not to complain about it, but instead just deal with it. After all, I've lived in Iowa for the first 27 years of my life, so blowing snow, slick roads and everyone cancelling
everything is something that is pretty normal during winter months. But I still don't really like it.
Anyway, we've been cooped up these past two days with school being cancelled. I go back and forth between "I love this! We're nice and cozy inside and I have all these fun activities to do with my children!" and "Argh! I can't stand this! I don't want to hear any more whining! GET ME OUT OF THIS HOUSE!"
It's too cold to go outside and play (it's currently 3°) so here are a few of the things we've done this week:
Made homemade Play-doh
Had a dance party
Baked up some yummy Zucchini Bars (from frozen zucchini from our garden)
Built a fort out of blankets
Painted pictures
Decorated the inside of our fort with our paintings
Had a picnic inside consisting of blueberries, crackers, carrots and string cheese
Watched movies (Beckett permanently scratched his current all time favorite-Toy Story 3 aka "Woody". Bummer.)
Went to Target for some shopping, coffee, and a rice krispie bar
Planted seeds in little flower pots
Played at the Y
It's been fun, but I'm running out of ideas! I really just want to go for a long walk. Or better yet, a
short walk to go get ice cream. Oh, summer I am ready for ya!
