We don't keep the drying rack on the counter anymore. Throughout the day, we put the dirty dishes in a tub under the sink, then after supper each night wash them and let them dry overnight in the drying rack. Then, first thing in the morning the dishes and the drying rack get put away.
Next Project: Laminate Hardwood Floors!
